Read Alice’s letter to Maria and fill in the gaps with the correct form of the verb in brackets after the gap. All of the answers are present simple or present continuous. You can use contractions if you want but it is not necessary. If the verb in brackets is in green, put your answer in positive, if it is in red with “not” then put your answer in the negative form.

Hi Maria!My name is Alice and I’m from Manchester. I (live) with my family near the city centre. My mom (work) in a bank and my dad (write) books.
At the moment my mom (try) to get a promotion to manager of her office at the bank, so she (work) much harder than usual to impress her boss. Because of the extra work, she (seem) quite stressed, so dad and I (do) a bit more than usual around the house so that she (have) some time to relax.
My dad can work when he (want) so can be very flexible, sometimes he (feel) very inspired and writes a lot, at other times he (seem) to find it more difficult, so (go) for a walk or (do) something to take his mind of things. I (not think) that he (realise) how lucky he his, I (not know)) any other dads who (have) so much freedom!
I (not have) any brothers or sisters, but I (not feel) lonely, I (have) lots of friends at school and in my street, we often (play) together, sometimes we go for a bike ride or go to the shops.
