Adjective Order

When we describe anything in English we can use adjectives, sometimes various adjectives in sequence. There is an explicit order for these adjectives that should be used to sound natural. If you get the order wrong, don’t worry! it is unlikely to cause misunderstandings. The order of adjectives that we need to use is as follows.

  • Opinion.
  • Size. condition.
  • Age.
  • Shape.
  • Colour.
  • Pattern.
  • Origin.
  • material.
  • Noun.
