Giving Directions

Woman: Excuse me, do you speak English?

Man: Yes, I do. How can I help you?

Woman: I’m trying to find my way to the Sagrada Familia. Could you give me directions from Plaza Catalunya?

Man: Sure, it’s not too far from here. I’ll give you the simplest route, so that you don’t get lost. First, you need to walk around the plaza until you get to Passeig de Gracia, then head north on Passeig de Gracia until you reach Carrer de Provença. It’s about 5 or 6 blocks.

Woman: Carrer de Provença? Is that a street?

Man: Yes, it is. You can’t miss it, you’ll see Casa Mila, also known as the Pedrera on the corner. It’s an unusual and beautiful house designed by the famous architect Antoni Gaudi.

Woman: Okay, got it. And then?

Man: Once you reach Carrer de Provença, turn left and keep walking along Provenca until you reach Carrer de Mallorca. Then turn right and keep going straight on. As you walk along Carrer de Mallorca you’ll have to cross Avinguda Diagonal. It’s a big avenue with lots of lanes. You’ll need to find a crossing and wait at the traffic lights, there’s always a lot of traffic. After that, just keep going until you see the Sagrada Familia.

Woman: Okay, thank you. And how long will it take me to get there?

Man: It should take you around 30 minutes on foot, depending on how fast you walk.If you aren’t sure where you are at any point, you can just stop and ask someone else for directions.

Woman: Great, thank you so much for your help!

Man: No problem, enjoy your visit to Barcelona!
